I think that Business Education gets overlooked in the realm of education. We are a group of educators who have been forced to focus on AYP and thus the classes that affect it. All of the main academic areas get all of the attention in education. As a Business Education teacher, I do not feel that we get to give our students the best that is out there. How is it that today's students are considered "Digital Natives" and some do not have an email account? There are so many ways in which teachers could incorporate technology into their classes. Conversely, many counties restrict access to using various technologies. In addition, the program is not strongly funded so that the classes stay fairly up to date with software. Although, we are the teachers that are supposed to provide our students with necessary skills for the working world, we are often inhibited. There are many times in which we are not allowed to be more creative or to further engage our students by providing a more interactive/hands-on environment when technology is required. Below are some different links to some ways of incorporating technology in your class:
iGoogle : Allows you to create a class homepage
Google Sites : Allows you to create a simple web page
pbwiki : Online collaborative tool
blogs : Can be used for an active online journal

Katrina,
I agree with you that teachers today are facing a tough time in trying to first overcome the fear of technology that is changing daily, and then trying to see its potential for education. We can keep trying and hope the students are able to use technology that is effective in giving them lifelong skills where they will learn to communicate effectively.
Katrina, I agree with you about Business Education gets overlooked. I discussed that fact in my blog. However, with the 21st century learner changing toward inclusion of technology for digitial learners, Business Education will light the way for real-life learning for the workforce. Technology Rules in Business Education.
Your blog was informative. I liked the background.
Business education is certainly becoming more and more chalenging, inlight of the technological advances. I agree that these chalenges are real, and can become a real obstacle. Many countries do limit the access to technology, though mostly for polical reasons. Today's "Digital Natives" must have a minimum of electronic communication.
Ketrina, great post, I think you are correct about students today. How could they be called "digital native". These are the future leaders of the country and they need to know how technology can affect them. Technology is always changing and I know it can be overwhelming with all the new tools that are coming out everyday. But I am glad to see teachers such as yourself making a great effort to inform student in the wonders of the technical world.
